With a big entry list we arrived early to get all the paperwork sorted and set up with plenty of time to spare. Had bacon and egg sandwiches + coffee and we were ready to go!
Craig Warren in his SSS Racing torana replaced his old Powerplus stickers with the new logos and they look really good, see below.
We also had 2 new racers running our E85 – Dom Rigoli and Scotty Cousins. Scotty ended up in the quarter finals and breaking out with a 7.62 on a 7.70 in Top Sportsman. Dom lost the final of Supercomp after crossing centre line despite getting the win with the lights running a 7.0.
The panelvan lost Round 2 but it looks like there is a problem with the usually consistent pano as it is gradually getting slower. We can’t complain though as the engine has done over 150 passes and the trimatic gearbox has over 3yrs service.
My torana lost Round 1 by 0.8, was off time by .12 due to a late shift going from 1st to 2nd, and despite a good .07 reaction it just wasn’t good enough. We will put a new tacho with shift light in before the next meeting and hopefully fix my shifting.
