After looking forward to our 1st event of the year and then to wake up to rain on Saturday was disappointing, but being optimistic we headed for Sydney Dragway hoping it would clear… it didn’t. At around 1pm, after almost getting a start, a shower finished the day. So we packed up and left, we were off to have a few beers and watch the Adelaide 500.
Sunday morning did not look much better at 6am, but after breakfast and getting to the track at 8:30 it was all systems go. We got both cars warmed up and hit the track with 3 qualifiers before lunch. Both Steve and I lost the 1st Round, Steve by .06 and myself by .02 with a 10.49 on 10.48 dial-in. With racing that close we weren’t too unhappy losing – there was a lot of good close racing all day.
We have a few adjustments before the first round of track championship but all in all a relaxing and enjoyable weekend for us and our new look cars!
