Saturday July 6 – Junior Prologue & KTM Hattah Desert Race
Hi All,
The 2013 Hattah desert race for Mitch and Josh was run on Saturday 6/7/13. The North West Victorian Motorcycle club run a world class event. Conditions were ideal and the boys preparation was rewarded on the day.
8.30am had the small wheel juniors, all 63 of them doing there 1.5km prologue to decide the race start order. Mitch finished the hot lap with the 2nd fastest time and Josh in 4th. A great way to start the main race, at the front out of the dust.
11.30am and they lined up in grids to start the 68km race. Both got away cleanly and established good speed in the first laps. Mitch cementing 2nd place early on and Josh battling between 3rd and 4th for the race finishing in a very credible 4th position.
The Kawasaki KX85’s ran without issue again. Some taller gearing and re-jetting had them absolutely cracking around the track. The Kawasaki pit tent was a standout on the 300m long pit straight as the picture below shows.
Powerplus 99 Race Fuel had the engines crisp and clean for the race thanks to Martin at Powerplus NSW.
