Australian Off-Road Championships
March 22nd Round 1 and March 23rd Round 2
NSW Sprint & X-Country Championships
March 22nd Round 1 and March 23rd Round 2
Hi All,
The weekend just past has seen the opening rounds of the Australian and State Offroad Championships. Central Coast Dirt Riders staged an awesome event at Bulahdelah in some challenging track conditions. The year has seen Mitch and Josh step up onto the 2014 Kawasaki KX85 big wheel in the J2 class.
A large field with some great riders made for a competitive start to the racing. Mitch and Josh’s hard work over the last few months on and off the bike has seen them have a great start to the years championships. As this event was a combined state and national event the boys ran in the J2a 12-13yrs 85cc2T,150cc4T class for the State rounds and J2 12-15yrs 85cc2T,150cc4T class for the Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC).
Saturday was a sprint format with 5 loops of about 10-11 minutes duration. Both boys had a flyer of a first loop then consistency cemented their positions for the day. Mitch 1st and Josh 3rd AORC. Mitch 1st and Josh 2nd State round.
Sunday was a sprint format on a modified reversal of Saturdays track. Needless to say it was a bit rough yet the Teknik Motorsport tuned suspension gave both bikes a great chance to excel. Mitch had a fall in one of the sprints but recovered quickly. Both boys did some great riding for yet another day of great results. Josh 2nd and Mitch 3rd AORC. Josh 1st and Mitch 2nd in the state round.
Overall some great results and a great start to the years racing in the off-road series.
A big thanks goes to Powerplus Racing Fuels.
