The Torana finally made it back on the track after getting a number of changes since May, the new look will be complete by WSID Round 9.
All the mechanical modifications paid off with the car now running straight, consistent and much more user friendly running PP 108+.
Rocker cover gasket leaks limited the dyno testing on Thursday night at Erina UltraTune to only one half decent run, which showed mixture was OK and that was good enough for me to load the Torana.
Saturday morning we tossed the old rocker cover gaskets and replaced with a set Al had found at work. The difference in quality was amazing, we glued them in place and the leaks were gone.
On the first run I was a bit nervous if all the changes were a good idea but it went dead straight and felt great. From then on I got more confident in the car and would say it is the most comfortable I have felt in the Torana since the new engine went in this time last year. Hopefully now I can enjoy racing again.
Thanks to Al for all of his help once again, but I am confident he can have a rest from the Torana now.
While we saw a lot of familiar faces and cars it was great to see so many different ones as well.
