BRIERLEY BROTHERS RACE REPORT

Australian Offroad Championships
23.05.2015 Round 5
24.05.2015 Round 6

Hi All,

The past weekend had us travelling to Wanbi, South Australia for the 5th and 6th rounds of the Australian Offroad Championships. Ariel MCC set up a great event in the open and sandy land that the local council owns and had given permission for use for the event. Over 80 junior riders attended the weekend and all came away with some great riding.

Saturday was a X-Country format with Mitch and Josh doing a 2 hour race on a 10km loop of deep sand and open bush and grass track that challenged all riders. Both boys settled into a speedy rhythm. Mitch took a lead in the J2 class on the first lap and was never got close too with fast and consistent riding to take the win by over 2 minutes. Josh settled into 2nd place for the majority of the race in the J3 class. After pushing hard for the 2nd half of the race. Josh tried hard to catch 1st but fell short by 34 seconds and ended up with a great 2nd place result.

Sunday was a sprint format with yesterdays course cut down and added to with some new sections to make 2 x 7km loops. Mitch went out to dominate from the 1st sprint and after 4 sprint laps in total came away with his second win for the weekend and putting him in a great lead in the J2 championship after 6 rounds. Josh also had a great day building speed as the 4 sprint laps were completed. A faultless days riding had Josh and his KX250f scoring 1st place for the round and extending his championship lead in the J3 class.

The Bikebiz Kawasaki KX250f and KX85II were both faultless on the weekend and with the help of all of their supporters are hoping to continue to gain momentum and keep on the podium for a great years results.

The boys will now be preparing for next rounds of the Australian Offroad Championships in Queensland and then on to their favourite race of the year, the Hattah desert race 2 weeks following.

Thanks all,
Josh#103 & Mitch#204

The boys race with Powerplus 99+ in their bikes.
