JOSH AND MITCH BRIERLEY – RACE REPORT

Australian Off-Road Championships
May 3rd Round 5 and May 4th Round 6

Hi All,

The weekend had Mitch, Josh and the family all road tripping to the very south of Victoria for the 5th and 6th rounds of the AORC at Hedley, Victoria. Fine sand was the predominant base material to be riding on and it soon turned from a great, fun track to a very rough, whooped out loop that tested all machinery and riders.

The kxjuniorsquad had 3 representatives with a great pit presence noticed by many. All 3 boys ending the weekend on the podium.

Saturday was a 2 hour XCountry for the juniors on a 15 km loop. Some fresh Top ends in the Kawasaki 85’s and some other minor changes had the boys both flying from the get go. Mitch led the pack of 22 riders out into the loop with Josh in a close 4th. By the time the first lap had ended the 2 green machines came flying back through with Mitch in 1st and Josh in 2nd. 2 hours of racing would see them finishing in the same positions after some great riding and good strategies for their pit stop.

Sunday was a sprint format with half of the XCountry loop used for the juniors sprint. The track was slightly rougher having had all the pro and all other classes compete after the juniors Saturday. It was a challenge to say the least. Mitch started the day strongly with the fastest first sprint, Josh was hot on his heals. Mitch then had a fall in the second sprint losing almost 2 minutes which he struggled to recover through the day. Josh had a super consistent day staying in 1st place and never caught. Mitch ended the day in a great 4th place to hold onto valuable championship points.

Both boys continue to improve with every outing and we look forward to the rest of the year to come.

Thanks All,
Josh#203 & Mitch#204.
