MITCH AND JOSH BRIERLEY GRAB FIRST AND SECOND AGAIN!

NSW Sprint & X-Country Championships
April 26th Round 3 and April 27th Round 4

Hi All,

The weekend had us only 1.5 hrs from home for a weekend of the State championships at Portland, NSW. Oyster bay MCC ran a great event at a picturesque location on the edge of the Pine forests. The weather was fine and the tracks were challenging making for a great weekends racing.

The boys Kawasaki KX85’s ran flawlessly for the weekend in some rough conditions. Very rocky terrain had a lot of people battling to stop flat tyres but our Technomousse tubes from 4Enduro never let us down. Both boys showed great speed and improvement for the weekend and ended both days with great results.

Saturday was a sprint format with a great 13-14 minute loop. Each rider doing 6 sprints of the track with the times cumulating for the final result. Josh and Mitch both had great runs all day with Josh taking 1st and Mitch taking 2nd.

Sunday was a 1.5 hour XCountry around a hilly and rough 8km loop. A flag start had Mitch in 1st and Josh in 4th as they headed out of the starts 400m trail, but by the time they reappeared from the first lap Mitch was leading with Josh hot on his heels. After and 1 hour and a bit, Josh wwas putting the pressure on Mitch and unfortunately Mitch had a big off into a tree while trying to stay in front. He managed to get back on and push back to the pits for some bar straightening then back out to chase Josh. However Josh pushed hard to take a convincing win with Mitch still holding onto 2nd in a great race.

Thanks to Powerplus Racing Fuels NSW. We look forward to this weekends Rnd 5 & 6 of the Australian Offroad Championships at Hedley, Victoria.

Thanks All,
Josh#203 & Mitch#204
