MITCH & JOSH: ROUND 9/10 AORC

Mitch & Josh Brierley Race Report
17th & 18th August
Round 9 & 10 of the Yamaha Australian Offroad Championship

Hi All,

Another big weekend has passed with great results for Mitch and Josh. The 9th and 10th rounds of the AORC were held at Wedderburn, Victoria. The Bendigo MCC staged a fantastic weekends event and should be congratulated. The tracks were challenging to say the least. Some rain ensured for very muddy conditions for the weekend with cooling systems being strained.

Round 9 on Saturday. A 2 hour XCountry had the boys going back and forward for the lead of the J1 class. Only a few hundred metres from the finish had Josh take the lead from Mitch with just 1 second between them. Josh coming away with 1st and Mitch 2nd. Mitch’s bike had overheated on the last lap and we were to find out the engine had lost power and not fixable for the Sunday ride.

Round 10 on Sunday was a sprint format. Both boys started the day consistently in front of the rest of the class. Their times having them again, both in the placings of the J2 class  they will be in for next 2 years. Mitch took to the track on his practice bike and rode well to take 1st and Josh had a great ride for the day taking 2nd .

Great results for the weekend all round.

A big thanks to Bikebiz Kawasaki with the delivery of the new 2014 KX85’s. With not enough time to prep them for the weekends racing we had one on display for the weekend and the interest was huge!! Thanks to Keith and Dan for their support so far this year. Pirelli tyres, Motul oils, Hiflofiltro filters and RK Chains all made the day trouble free.

A huge thanks to Nik Sullivan at Competitive Edge motocross training. Again his input has definitely helped to fuel the boys speed and success.

Also a big thanks to Martin at Powerplus NSW, the Powerplus race fuels NSW distributor and Teknik Motorsport for their suspension work which has helped no end for the boys riding speed.

We are now looking forward to the last rounds of the AORC at Dungog NSW on the 7th and 8th of September where we will debut the new KX85’s hopefully putting them on the National podium for the first outing. We have plans to Pit together with several other Kawasaki riders including Kawasaki supported rider Daniel Sanders who is quickly making a name for himself in the Pro class. We will hopefully have a great display to rival the other manufacturers teams and will be looking for any help we can get to achieve this and show that there are several committed Kawasaki riders keen to take the brand to the next level in the Off Road Championships.

Thanks!!
