NOSTALGIA DRAGS – 18TH NOV 2012

Woke up to an overcast sky then I picked up Brad and we headed to Eastern Creek, after meeting Al on the freeway Steve and Scott were waiting for us at Blacktown Maccas for brekky. Just for a change the Hot Rods had an early start so we got there a bit later than usual and spent the whole day running late.
After our qualifiers, Round 1 saw me up against Al in his porsche, something we tried to avoid but I was slowest and Al was the fastest qualifier in Gas. Somehow the torana found 3 tenths and I broke out running 10.8 on 11.1 dial in. Spent the rest of the day checking out the cars and racing.
Al Rawson in his 4litre twin turbo hotrod had a good day after a couple of bad ones, using Powerplus 106+ ran consistent 10.3’s all day with only 5lb’s of boost. Good stuff Al persistence pays off.
Meanwhile Steve Warren’s hotrod had a few gremlins in the ignition system, I’m sure it will be sorted ready for 8/12.
Craig Warren in his SSS Racing torana got through to Round 3, Craig has a good consistent race car now so a win is only just around the corner I’m sure.
We had the APSA Pro Street Grand Finals at Sydney Dragway on the 24th Nov, blog post will be up soon.
