BRIERLEY REPORT – ROUND 7 AND 8 AORC

Australian Off-Road Championship
June 21st Round 7 and June 22nd Round 8

Hi All,

The weekend gone had Mitch & Josh on a road trip to Coonawara, South Australia for the 7th and 8th rounds of the AORC. Probably the best tracks set up in the year greeted all. A mix of an old quarry with plenty of rocky obstacles to tight deep sand through the pine trees and the ultimate sandy grass track meant for some great racing and smiles on the faces of all.

Saturday was a sprint format on a 5.5 km loop through the pine forest and grass track. 10 sprints were done in total with Mitch securing 1st place and Josh a close 2nd. The boys times had them way up the list of Juniors overall.

Sunday was also a sprint format. The juniors were moved over to the quarry area where the seniors had run the previous day. A good mix of pine forest and technical quarry obstacles had very close racing all day. Mitch set a couple of the fastest lap times for the day but had a couple of falls to push him back to 3rd for the day. Josh also had a great days riding with some great times but missed out on 1st by 11 seconds to take a great 2nd place.

Both bikes ran flawlessly and were sounding crisp as a 2 stroke can.

We left SA and have headed straight to Mildura, Victoria for the next 13 days getting ready for the Hattah Desert Race.

It is one of the boys favourite events of the year and they are planning to do the best they can in 2014, their 4th year in a row at the event.

Thanks All,

Josh#203 & Mitch#204
