TCS ROUND 4 – SYDNEY DRAGWAY

Really good weather and a lot of cars made a great day of racing –  well until the sun went down and the track cooled.

Mitch had his brand new ANDRA licence in hand and was ready for his first race over the quarter mile. Round 1 and he had the Panel-van where it should be, but a nervous itchy foot was his undoing, he red lit by .09.

I had some luck in the Torana and won Round 1 and 2 but with some oil problems I decided not to run Round 3, just to be safe. A bit disappointing for the team but one day a win will happen!

Al’s Porsche had Paul Galea in the driver’s seat, Paul lost the semi final to Neil Constantinou by .0012. Neil is probably the most consistent racer in the country, so losing to him by such a small margin is a great effort. Following Al’s last meeting win in Round 3 Top Sportsman, the Porsche is finally on the money and going down the middle of the track.

It was a shame to see Jack Danaher crash his new supercharged Hot Rod, but thankfully he is out of hospital with no serious injuries. We send our best wishes.

With Mitch and myself racing we didn’t get time for any real pictures or race footage unfortunately. Thanks to everyone for your support, see you at Round 5 (or Gunnedah).
