EAST COAST MX: BRIERLEY REPORT

2014 East Coast MX Series
8.02.14 – Round 1 – Lakes MCC

Saturday saw the East Coast Motocross championship head to Lakes MCC for Round 1. With the Australian and State off road championships not kicking off till the end of March, Mitch and Josh will be doing the first 2 rounds of the East Coast to get their riding and speed where it needs to be ready for the off roads. The track was in great condition and with a talented full grid in their 12-14yrs 85cc class, the boys were keen to try for a top 10 finish on the day.

The new 2014 KX85 big wheels from Kawasaki Australia were looking great and ran flawlessly. Mitch had a heavy fall in practice but backed up for the 3 races. Mitch ran a very credible 7th in race 1 & 2, the 3rd race had him in 5th position when a clash with another rider put him on the ground and he recovered to 15th position. Finishing the day in 13th. Josh had a very consistent day with a 10th place in each race securing 9th position outright for the day.

Both boys were more than happy with the results and are looking forward to round 2 at ACT MCC in early March where they hope to improve on the results.

A big thanks goes to all the boys supporters, Kawasaki Australia, Bikebiz Granville, Teknik Motorsport, 4Enduro/Technomousse, Powerplus Racing Fuels, Ipone oils, AXO riding gear, Shark Helmets, EKS brand goggles and Pirelli tyres.

The boys were 2 of only 3 KX85’s in their class of 37 riders and definitely turned some heads. The bikes are fast and reliable and we look forward to the year ahead.

Thanks All,
Josh#203 & Mitch#204 Brierley
